"Midnight Forest"Originally this painting was entitled “Networking” and was composed of lines of muted colours interconnecting stars of various bright colours on a Lemon Yellow background. However, I decided to change the mood. I created tracks in the surface to signify the “career” journey’s that people make and the ruts that they create for themselves. I wanted the mood of the painting to reflect the subtleness and blandness of the modern working experience and so I painted the whole canvas a deep rich blue as this gave the feeling of contentment, but not fulfilment. Next I removed the topmost layer of the painting to reveal the colours and texture of the original painting resulting in a myriad of subtle highlights amongst a backdrop of blandness. This painting signifies what most people experience during their working lifetimes, a “walk in a forest at midnight”. Acrylic on Canvas Board (30 cm x 42 cm) | ![]() |

![]() | "Harmony"Blocks of colour floating in an ivory “sky”. The turquoise, cerulean blue, bright green and medium yellow bands appear to float towards the viewer creating a sense of peace. The colours, although are different, complement each other and so create a harmonious composition. Acrylic on Canvas Board (30 cm x 42 cm) |
"Desire"An explosion of colour: turquoise, blue, yellow green and gold. The turquoise nucleus suggests a cold heart, but the central point of this painting is an explosion of feeling created by the colours radiating out from the centre. The rich blues and turquoise succumb to the bright green, yellow and the rich gold depicting the emotions of desire and encroaching avarice. Acrylic on Canvas Board (30 cm x 42 cm) | ![]() |
