Subjects for my paintings vary from scenic views of warm Chinese gardens to portraits of my children playing by the seaside on a cold winter's day; from Thunderbolts to portraits to Abstracts.
I have tried not to restrict myself to any one painting media and in one or two cases, not to limit myself to painting. I enjoy what I do and hope that you too will enjoy what you see. To view my work, please click on the links on the right or on the image of the painting below.
Seaside Themed Paintings
"Paddling at Great Yarmouth – Great Yarmouth Beach 3"
A view taken across Great Yarmouth Beach into the sun during one of the hottest weekends of 2008. Sunlight glitters off the sea as a visitor walks towards one of Great Yarmouth’s Pleasure Piers.

Military and Aviation Themed Paintings
"Thunderbolts"
This painting portrays two Republic P-47C-2-RC Thunderbolts of the 61st Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group somewhere over England in 1943.
HV-A (in the foreground) is flown by Francis S “Gabby” Gabreski, top-scoring ace in Northern Europe and HV-P (in the background) is flown by Robert S Johnson another high scoring ace.

Oil Paintings
"On the Beach"
"On the Beach" is painted in oil colour and depicts two children daring each other to go closer and closer to the water's edge, whilst the sea crashes up the beach on a cold and wet day. The location was Sherness and the two rascals were my own.
I used a camera to capture the moment and painted from the photograph in 1998. I am really pleased with the translucent look of the sea.

"View of the Summer Palace"
I painted this view of the Summer Palace, Beijing in 1998 after a trip to China. The majority of the painting is watercolour, with gouache highlights on the trunk of the tree.

Acrylic Paintings
"Passion"
An explosion of colour: red, yellow, orange, violet, purple.
The central point of this painting is an explosion of feeling created by the passionately applied colours and the lines, radiating out from the central nucleus of pink (the colour of love)

Pastel Paintings
"Profile in Oil Pastels"
I used oil pastels for this portrait. The medium was excellent for capturing the different colours that the light gave to the strands of her hair.
By blending the pastels on the paper allowed me to capture the highlights of her skin tone. I was very pleased with the results and quite impressed with oil pastel painting as an art medium.
